NBA Player Dwayne Wade Granted Temporary Custody

The two young sons of Dwyane Wade have been turned over to the NBA star, the result of an emergency court order issued this week after Wade complained his estranged wife was blocking scheduled visits with their boys.

The Richards High School standout, engaged in a bitter divorce with his one-time high school sweetheart, filed an emergency motion to have the boys turned over to him this week, alleging the boys’ mother stood in the way of a visit over the long Memorial Day weekend.

Cook County Associate Judge Fe Fernandez sided with Dwyane Wade, issuing an emergency order Wednesday requiring the mother to turn the boys over to their father until further notice.

In her order, Fernandez wrote that the Miami Heat guard’s “visitation has been frustrated on an ongoing basis as a result of continual interference” by estranged wife Siohvaughn Wade.

The interference, the judge wrote, “has led to ongoing de facto curtailments, restriction, and/or cancellations” of Dwyane Wade’s visitation.

“The Court finds that it is in the best interest of the minor children that their physical possession be transferred to [Dwyane Wade] until further order of the court.”
