Newly Crowned Miss USA Stripper Pole Controversy

17May10

Well, that didn’t take long. One day after being named Miss USA 2010, Rima Fakih may already have a scandal brewing because of old photos showing her in a radio show’s “Stripper 101” contest.

Following Fakih’s win at Sunday’s 59th Annual Miss USA Pageant in Las Vegas on Sunday, the Mojo In the Morning radio show posted risqué photos of the Dearborn, Mich., resident participating in the radio show’s 1997 contest.

The photos show Fakih pole dancing and with dollar bills in her bra.

According to the radio station’s website, producers of the show were contacted by Miss Universe representatives requesting more photographs and information regarding Fakih’s involvement in the contest. When asked if Fakih’s crown was in danger because of the photos, pageant representatives would not comment, the site said. Mojo, the host of the show, says the photos have been on the site for three years and no further pictures will be released. He added that he hopes that the incident will not result in the 24-year-old having to relinquish her crown.
A call and email to the Miss Universe Organization were not immediately returned.
